Harvest Festival is a Hit!

The pupils, staff and parents of Rogate CE Primary School enjoyed a fantastic Harvest Festival on Monday 3rd October.

On Monday 3rd October at 2pm, staff, parents and pupils of Rogate CE Primary School enjoyed a beautiful Harvest Festival service led by Father Edward Doyle. The theme of the service was 'The Gifts of Creation'. Every class took parts of the story of creation and presented them differently.

Sika's class presented 'The Making of the Light and the Dark' and 'TheHeaven and the Earth' through poetry. Wolves used prayers to thank God for the gifts of the 'Earth and the Sea'. Foxes Class then sang 'From the Tiny Ant' to remind us that we must care for all the animals of the Earth and 'Cauliflowers Fluffy' to remind us of all the fruit and vegetables that God gifts us with each year. Finally the Squirrels class told us that on the 7th day God rested. They also shared their favourite foods with the congregation through art work.

The service also allowed the entire congregation to take communion or a blessing if they wished. Ms O'Toole was extremely proud to see the pupils all taking this very special part of the service so seriously.

One pupil told Ms O'Toole on the way back to school "I am very lucky aren't I Ms O'Toole, I have gifts from God every day!"

The school regularly has services at the church, the next planned service is Thursday 10th November for a Remembrance Service. The service will start at 10.45 and again, all pupils will be involved.
